🫧 Slime Care Guide: How to Keep Your Slime Soft, Stretchy & Long-Lasting

So you just got your slime, now what?

To keep it feeling amazing (fluffy, glossy, stretchy, or crunchy), a little care goes a long way. Here’s everything you need to know to keep your slime in perfect condition.

1. Always wash your hands before playing

Slime is super sensitive to dirt, oil, and lotion.

Clean hands help:

  • keep texture smooth
  • prevent stickiness
  • extend slime life

Avoid playing right after applying hand cream or sanitizer.

2. Store it properly

When you’re done playing, always put your slime back in its container and seal it tightly.

Best storage tips:

  • keep in airtight container
  • store at room temperature
  • avoid direct sunlight or heat

Heat can melt slime, and cold can make it stiff.

 3. If your slime gets sticky

Sticky slime is totally normal over time.

Try this:

  • knead it for 1–2 minutes
  • add a tiny drop of activator
  • or let it rest for a few hours

⚠️ Don’t over-activate, it can make slime hard.

4. If your slime gets too hard

This happens when slime is over-activated or left open.

Fix it by:

  • adding a small amount of lotion (for soft slimes)
  • adding a tiny bit of warm water and kneading
  • adding a tiny bit of Glycerin and knead.

5. Keep slime away from:

  • carpets & fabric (it can stick)
  • hair
  • pets
  • food surfaces

Always play on a clean tray or table.
